ugh, why would he do this?
it’s been over a year since i became friends with this guy, and within the last 6 months, we’ve gotten a lot closer.. i told him he could talk to me any time, he always came to me with his problems. he’d tell me i was amazing, and even told me he liked me a few times (even though i was helping him with a lot of girl problems..).
then within the last 2 months, he says i’m the only girl he likes, and he’s gotten a lot sweeter towards me, doesn’t pressure me for sex (like he used to), told me he wants to go away for college, but wants to stay close to see me (said he has everything he needs here), and just realllyyy sweet things like that. we used to text all the time. we’ve only hung out a few times, but he’s one of the closest friends i have.
i told him last tuesday that i think that part of me likes him (he’s always telling me how he feels about me), but that i’m just not sure. since then, we haven’t talked nearly as much, he never texts me first, and he doesn’t answer all my texts. our conversations are short, &. i just don’t understand.. when we do talk, we just have a normal conversation, and nothing seems wrong, he’s just not saying sweet things like he used to. he used to complain if i didn’t text him first because if i "wanted to talk" to him, then i wouldve texted him. and if we didn’t talk all day, he’d tell me he missed me.

Before I left my wife’s grave sight I got out of my car and walked back up that long hill to say a
final goodbye to the woman I loved. She’s located in Southern Missouri outside a quiet little town
with rolling hills filled with trees, and wild flowers. In the summer when you walk down to the
creek to throw a rock into it’s clear water, you’ll see all kinds of birds flying here and there sing-
ing their song for the world to hear. With all kinds of Mother Nature all around you the big city
sounds are far far away. Sometimes I play a game that I’m farmer back in 1822 taking a break
from a hard days work to put my tin cup down in the cool water that taste so great on hot July
afternoon. I want to invite all of you with a mind set on killing yourself to hold off until July the 4th.
That’s the day we stop for a moment to thank God we live in America the land of the free. You
know this land you walk on was paid for by many-many men and women who went into combat
just so you could go down to a stream and sip a cup of water on a hot summer day. Come on
out here to the Mid-West and drink as much of our free water as you want. I’ll bet you $1.00
you change your mind about pulling that trigger my friend. I’ll bet you come up with an idea of
how when you get back home you can try this and that so maybe that problem of yours kind of
fall way far back in your mind.

Heck, look at me ! I took that .45 cal pistol away from my head and put back in it’s hiding place.
Then I waited until around 5:30 am and went to 6 o’clock church for two weeks. I asked God
for a wife and kid’s. Ended up with a beautiful woman and 5 fantastic children.

Ask God what He has planned for you? And remember… it may take a bit of time before He get’s
things all set-up for you. Then someday you’ll be like me. Sitting here remembering all the events
that took place after the night you almost pulled the trigger (or whatever).

Hello there, Tom. This truly is a wonderful story. I’m sure that a lot of people needed to see something like this, it’s a very inspirational piece of writing. I am extremely happy for you, you’re strong for overcoming your misery and making something of your life. It takes courage to stand up and help yourself and others. I hope that this comforts people that feel scared and alone, because we all do at some point in our lives.

Edit: Tunuviel: I’m not religious either, but I think the whole point of the story is great. You don’t have to be religious to find comfort in life, but I’m glad he found something to live for.

Suicide is a thing that’s so frowned upon in this society, but honestly, life isn’t for everybody it really isn’t. life is like animal porn not everybody will enjoy it. It’s sad when kids kill themselves ’cause they didn’t really give life a chance, but life is like a movie: if you’ve sat through more than half of it and it sucked every second so far, it probably isn’t gonna get great right at the very end for you and make it all worthwhile. No one should blame you for walking out early.

Lethal Weapon (1987) IMDB rating: 7.50 Plot: Los Angeles police sergeant Roger Murtaugh, who has just turned 50 years old, is assigned to investigate the death of Amanda Hunsaker, a prostitute who is one of the daughters of bank president Michael Hunsaker, a friend whom Roger has known since they were in the Vietnam War together, but Roger hasn’t seen Michael in 12 years. Beginning with this investigation, Roger is assigned a new partner Sergeant Martin Riggs, who has been suicidal ever since his wife Victoria “Vicky” Lynn Riggs died in a car crash in 1984. Can anyone register any body part as a lethal weapon?
My friend has been trying to tell people that his hands are registered lethal weapons and he can’t fight anybody. And no his name isn’t Barney Fife.

You don’t actual go somewhere to have your body parts registrared lethal weapons. It is just a legal term meaning that due a person’s level of combat skill their using hand to hand fighting is the same as a normal person using a weapon like a knife or gun.

Meaning that a if a Navy seal or Blackbelt in Martial Arts is provoked to fight they can not use the same standard of self defense if they fight back and someone dies, because of their training a punch from them is like a normal person pulling a knife. They are suppose to know how to fight without someone getting killing.

YES. When you become a black belt, I think you have to get a permit. Also you have to tell anyone you fight that you are a black belt as you might just kill them

If he is a registered black belt or some sort of Special Forces veteran, yes. If not, he’s pulling your leg. Speaking of legs, though, your *feet* ARE a lethal weapon. If you kick someone when they’re down you’ve committed assault with a deadly weapon.

The only people who stand a chance of getting into trouble fighting is professional boxers. Look at the news and you will see several have been jailed or fined for hitting someone. As far as anything else, never heard of having to register a body part.

I think this person has a yellow strip down their back about a yard wide.

I have been in the martial arts since 1957 and have never had to use for self-defense but, if the occasion arises and I havent provoked, then what I deliver to someone will be their fault not mine……tis ridiculous to think you have to register…

I’ve heard this line before, but to answer the question I called My Brother in Law who is a Black Belt Judo Instructor and according to him (and why would he lie?) Yep, if you’re registered and hurt someone, it’s big trouble… BUT also, if the person is going around bragging about the "Lethal Weapons" thing, then he probably isn’t one, because a big part of any Martial Arts Training is learning humility. That means you just don’t brag about it!
