Wondering why I regurgitate? And not bulimic.?
Since I was 8 I’ve been regurgitating food. It can be anything from water to lettuce. Hardly ever does it burn or taste like vile although scarely maybe over the years I’ve gotten use to it? I saw a doctor when I was 8 for it and the idiot said it was nerves and that I would grow out of it. Several cavities and years later I haven’t. Weirder thing is I can eat say a cucumber as a snack between breakfast and lunch. Then for lunch have chicken, then for snake some cookies, then some other things and then when 5 in the evening rolls around I throw up the cucumber. I have no idea how that works. One doctor said it was GERDS but that’s if I were to eat greasy, fatty foods which I generally don’t. Anyone have any clues?
It’s not much of a problem just really annoying. Especially when going to the dentist and them saying how beautiful my front teeth are and then wondering why I have a red throat and cavities on my back teeth since soe bile is coming up because it’s ruining my teeth. If it was as simle as a diet change I’d do it except I can’t really cut water out of my diet. It just is annoying.

My sister & dad have this. I don’t have a clue & it makes no sense to me, but they think it’s funny & doesn’t seem to bother them.

I think you have a weak cardiac sphincter…

Here’s a link….

Heartburn and Acid Reflux
From Expert System: Upper Abdominal Symptoms, Pain, Indigestion, or Heartburn

Almost 40% of all Americans experience heartburn or acid reflux at least once a month, according to a Gallup surveys, and almost 5% of all Americans suffer from the condition daily. What causes it?

A muscular ring or valve the cardiac sphincter, surrounds the end of the lower esophagus where it empties into the stomach. This ring normally prevents regurgitation or reflux of acid stomach contents into the lower esophagus. Weak or deficient sphincter tone, combined with activity after eating, meals close to bedtime, certain foods, such as chocolate, alcohol, spices, or simply obesity or recumbency can result in heartburn. An especially common cause of acid reflux, particularly in older patients and those who take pain relievers frequently for headache, arthritis, aches and pains and numerous other other painful conditions. These medications, in particular ingestion of aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, advil, motrin, tylenol, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or "NSAIDS" are irritating to the lining of the GI tract, especially the esophagus and stomach. In many older people, a large proportion of whom take NSAIDS, the sphincter functions poorly, so that with increasing age, particularly over 65 the incidence of acid reflux is extremely high, often exceeding 75% of the population. (See also NSAIDS in duodenal and gastric ulcer disease).

When ordinary heartburn or reflux becomes severe enough to cause the sufferer significant and chronic symptoms, it is elevated to Gastroesophageal or GE Reflux Disease, "GERD." This is frequently accompanied by hiatus hernia, when a part of the stomach protrudes or herniates upward above the diaphragam. It is not well-appreciated, however, that hiatus hernia is quite common in the general population, and is often present without symptoms even in young people.

DIAGNOSIS: Acid reflux or heartburn is so common and benign, and treatment with antacids, histamine H2 receptor blockers like Zantac
