the Mayans used several calendars. all of them calculated different things such as planetary movements. when the calendars reach the end you just start counting over again just as you would counting the days between a full moon. the longest of these Mayan calendars is 1,728,000 days long. it will recycle again on December 21, 2012.
this date is not meant as any type of prediction. it is simply a point to start counting over again very similar to New Years Eve turning into New Years Day. the last time the calendar recycled was on September 18, 1618 and nothing significant happened on that day either.
The December 21, 2012 date has no significance except that you need to start counting someplace and end someplace. Its the same as we start counting the new year on January 1st.
The Mayans themselves didnt believe that the world would end on that day so i dont know why anyone else should think it will.

It’s the day after Dec. 20th (which is my birthday, by the way). It holds no real significance other than the Mayan calendar myth..oh, and it’s Winter Solstice (or the 21st often is).
What does that date have to do with the category of Philippines?

hmmm.. it is going to be a little over 3 yrs from now.. one saying(?) is applicable " let us cross the bridge when we get there".. hehehhe.. pero we shouldnt be scared if that is the case..

This is nothing more than complete propaganda and hype over nothing. Just like the Y2K scare that everyone started going crazy over. The Mayan calandar just ended at that date. It never indicated the end of the world or predicted anything. All it did was stop. Did anyone ever think that when they were invaded by the Spanish that they just stopped making predictions!!!!!
Also people think that these are the "end times"…..I’m sure it will happen some time, whether or not its 2012 nobody really knows. In fact didn’t the bible state that nobody knows when the "end times" will happen except God.
The only thing that I know is that the economies of the world will get a lot worse and that all of us will be struggling economically. It may seem like the end of the world for some people but lets not get carried away and think its the end of the world.
If you’re really worried about this then I suggest you do the following:
-Buy guns and ammo
-Move out into the wilderness
-Stock up on tons of canned foods
-Buy lots of gold and silver

I never pay attention to the fear mongering by people who think they can influence the world. Having said that, that date is very important to me because of two people I love: they have birthday on the same day.
